Weekend chillax and divergent excitement!!

Finally it’s weekend to give everyone a good breather and let us be lazy and stuff our faces (apart from people who have to work, sorry!).
I know most of students including my friends go home during the weekend but I only visit once every two months. However I like to have a nice chilled weekend with my boyfriend rather than a mental two day trip to Belfast before university madness kicks in again. It just depends what you’re into but practically two hours in a bus full of people followed by a dramatic separation from my loved one to have a family reunion which sooner or later is going to end up with a fight, is not my type of weekend. This is why I choose to stay and do things I normally don’t have time for such as sleeping till 1pm, reading books, annoying my neighbours with Lorde album being played on repeat, sustaining my OCD needs and finally preparing all sorts of goodies for my boyfriend because a way to man’s heart is through his stomach.

No matter what way you are spending your weekend there might be a little time for reading a great book either on a bus home or 10 minutes before you go to bed. I have to say that I am quite shocked that people read so little these days (kindle books count!) let’s take my boyfriend who I have to force to read at least one book a year! My book interest fluctuates constantly but this year I am on a roll- even shocked myself, after finishing 10 books as of today.
My latest book obsession was Divergent by Veronica Roth and I have to say I recommend it to everyone who likes futuristic hunger games kind of scenario.

It is a trilogy first book Divergent followed by insurgent and allegiant.
I loved the first book it is definitely 5/5, 2nd book was good however a bit worse and I would have given it 4.5/5 and the third book was a bit of a disappointment as it completely was not what I imagined the ending so I give it a 3/5. All I have to say is read it ASAP because the first movie comes out this year, so check out the trailer!
The official date is 21st of March for USA but in UK I believe its 4th of April.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and get reading!

Time Management

It seems like forever since I wrote my last post! However I have been so busy with uni and other study related things… But since I am so busy I thought it might be useful to write about time management, which is especially important when you have work overload piling up and about to crush you.

This is why I am trying my hardest to develop a good balance between all of the activities. I didn’t buy an actual academic timetable but decided to look for an app and I am using Timetable by Gabriel Ittner which you can get for free in any app store.

Start by scheduling your lectures, seminars and about an hour or two a week for prep and required reading. The cool thing is you can have colour coordination for each class which is really helpful.

Then it is good to add part time work or voluntary work time you might have followed by book clubs etc. In my case on Monday morning I planned a workout followed by reading and then the rest of the day off. If you find it hard to remember to clean your room/ doorm/ apartment maybe scheduling an hour a week or 15 mins each day would be a good idea.

(This is what mine looks like, please ignore jelly splash request lol)
Although it sounds like a cool idea it is harder to stick to your workload you have organised for yourself. I know nobody is perfect but why not try and stick to the plan and hopefully become super students, haha (in my dreams!).

If anyone has any other time management advice, please share J
